Introduction of some of the participating bands at Sprite Band Challenge 2008

1. Zealot

Band formed in 2007 A. D
Cousin Band
Participation : Shikhar Beat, Rockheads, Vox-Pop
Genre: Punk Rock

2. Prakat

"Prakat" formed at 2007 A.D. Composed of five members namely Shiva (Percussions), Sazes (Vocal), Biwas (Lead Guitar), Parash (Bass) & Ujwal (Electric Guitar). And main wish is to Rock the Nation.

3. Xenon

Xenon band have 5 members and was established in 2007. The members of this band are from different colleges and united through contact of different friends.

4. Nishad

This band was established in 2058. Since they were established, they have been performing in many places. This band has 5 members also participate in Shikhar beat contest able to win the best lyrics. This band is one of the famous and most wanted bands at Bhaktapur.

5. Note worth

Note worth, was formed in Jan 2008. All members of this band came together from different (underground) bands. The bass and lead guitarist worked together, playing rock blues and drummer and vocalist from a rock band. All still underground. Today all unified as Note Worth, looking to do something good while working hard.

6. Catalyst

This band jammed together for about 4 yrs. Got together for this competition to explore their potential. Every member has different influences and has been playing their respective instrument for many years.

7. Dead String

This band was formed in 2004.  All the members are from the same locality. All band members are childhood friends with a common interest 'Music'. So, they learned to play guitars, drums and came up with the band named 'Dead Strings'. So far this band has performed in local festivals and some gigs but not in any competition yet. So "Sprite Band Challenge" is bands first competition.

8. The Last Tranzition

The Last Tranzition is a Rock band influenced by lots of musicians around the world. This band plays that kind of music that touches the band member’s soul and makes them feel like heaven.

9. Renegades

Established in 2005, they are a group of extremely music loving people who got together to form a blues- rock band. They hope to have a real good, memorable time during "Sprite band Challenge.

10. Santrass

Santrass band was formed in 2060 B.S. with 5 members, including a band manager. Generally this band plays Nepali & English rock songs. This band has performed in 10 concerts.

11. Exodus 24:7

When we go through the dictionary and see the meaning of the word "Exodus" it means the journey. Everything in this planet has to pass through the phase of exodus. Every second, every pulse in our life leads to the journey. Therefore, we as a band called our self as Exodus 24:7. The digits, which we have added into, symbolize twenty-four hours & seven days of journey, which resemble completeness. We as a band "Exodus" begin our journey for music in the year 2008 and thus we are on our never-ending journey. There are 5 band members in this band.

12. Pranay

This band has been playing since school days and they all were very interested in music. So, all the band members decided to form a band named "Pranay" in 2006. Pranay means to achieve a goal.

13. The Painters

This band has been playing since 2005 together. All band members like to play rock music from early 60's-70's era. 'The Painters' love color of life.

14. Wanted

This band is from Kirtipur. All the band members are equally interested in music. So they formed a band called “Wanted”.

15. Vibrations

This band has 6 members and all are school friends.

16. Smirk

This band was formed in 2004. The band was basically formed due to the keen interest of a group of friends who wanted to play music.

17. Silent Hill

This band is originally from Planet Musical Academy with combination of professional artists who have also been involved in other renowned band in the past. The guitarist and other members like the drummer are also teachers in the academy.

18. Rodiance

This band is quite popular at their locality, Golfutar. The band was established in 2000.

19. Steeperz

This band has 4 members. This is their first appearance in any competition; it has been just a few months since this band was formed.

20. Repertoire

This band formed few months ago. And have high hopes from SBC.

21. Qvixote

This band has been playing music since school days. And they say that Sprite is doing a good thing to promote local rock bands.

22. Prithak

This band has played in college music functions. They are very glad that Sprite has given them a chance to participate and provided a platform for young Nepalese.

23. Shatkond

This band was just formed 2 weeks before the Sprite Band Challenge. All the members of this band are childhood friends and started to play different instrument, having a motto ‘to start a new kind of music for the new Nepali generation in progressive rock.’

24. Alt-f4

The band was formed in mid 2004 and recorded their debut album, TRAASH, the same year. The album contains 8 songs in Nepali language all categorized as new age rock. It has not been released till date. Presently, the band is working on the second album. There are 5 band members all from Kathmandu.

25. Bequeath

There are 6 member in the band. Their genre of music is Rock and Heavy Metal. They are influenced by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeath and 1974 AD. They are the Winner of KCM inter college music contest,2006, Best vocal of KCM inter college music contest,2006, Best lead Guitarist of KCM inter college music contest,2006 and Best lead Guitarist of BATTLE OF ROCK,2007.
